NANCY LAKIER
Nancy Lakier has more than 30 years of experience in Consulting, Administration and Clinical Services. She is recognized for her expertise in health care operations and leadership, clinical and operational redesign, quality improvement, financial improvement and system integration.
Nancy has focused her career on key improvements in quality, service and financial performance in dynamic economic environments. Nancy has led consulting projects for clients dealing with major organizational change in a variety of hospital settings. Key areas of her work are in restructuring Work and Patient Flow, Case Management, Surgery, Emergency and Trauma, Nursing, Clinical Practice, Productivity, EMR/Practice Dynamic, Quality and Leadership Strategy.
Nancy’s foundational experience was in executive leadership positions at Scripps Health and San Bernardino Community Hospital in California; Fort Hamilton-Hughes Memorial Hospital in Hamilton (Cincinnati), Ohio; and Children’s Memorial Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Nancy led the clinical and operational restructuring for five of the Scripps Health Hospitals which resulted in $80 million in annualized financial savings while dramatically improving clinical outcomes and satisfaction for patients, physicians and hospital staff. Nancy was instrumental in the development of the nationally-renowned CareTrac clinical pathway/documentation system, and created a joint venture with a major healthcare information systems company to create an automated pathway documentation tool.
Nancy holds a BSN from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska and an MBA from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She has served on the boards and leadership councils for a variety of professional healthcare organizations and remains active in several professional organizations. Nancy has been frequently recognized as a healthcare thought leader and has received numerous awards from hospitals, professional organizations, universities and her community.
